The Overland Park Host Lions Club is a local chapter of Lions International, the world's largest humanitarian service organization with over 1,400,000 members and over 48,000 clubs serving in 200 countries and geographic areas around the globe.
Our club was chartered during 1956 by local citizens. Lions Inernational was founded in Chicago during 1917 by Melvin Jones. In 1925 Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become "Knights of the Blind in the crusade against darkness" . Since that time Lions have been primarily focused on sight preservation and activities supporting visually impaired individuals. Our moto is, "We Serve".
